Divisional Secretariat - Bandarawela

The second financial assistance under the President's Fund's other services provided by the Bandarawela Divisional Secretariat was presented to the beneficiary by Assistant Divisional Secretary B.M. Wasantha Kumara.

On May 17, 2026, at the Bandarawela Divisional Secretariat Office, checks amounting to Rs. 300,000.00, representing the initial phase of the Rs. 500,000.00 government payment for houses partially damaged by the Ditwa disaster in the Bandarawela Divisional Secretariat Division, were awarded to 100 families without prior assessment. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Bandarawela District Coordinating Committee and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Professor Ruwan Ranasinghe, Mayor of Bandarawela, Vishwa Wickrama, Chairman of the Provincial Council, Wasantha Sanjeewa, along with Members of Parliament, the Divisional Secretary of Bandarawela, Irosh Tharanga Rathnayake, Assistant Divisional Secretary, Wasantha Kumara, and government officials including Grama Niladhari Dharmasena.
